Challengers Always Reaching for Excellence! |

Congratulations to Mrs. Margie Norman, who has been selected as the Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Dale City Civic Association. Mrs. Norman has been an educator for thirty years, and the last ten years she has taught at McAuliffe Elementary School. She is a dedicated professional who strives to support students’ individual needs and strengths. She is a positive communicator and collaborative team member in her school. In addition to her exemplary teaching skills, Mrs. Norman is also an advocate for children and their families. She has collaborated efforts between McAuliffe and her church, First Mount Zion Baptist, to help feed over 40 families at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. She also volunteers at homeless shelters and works with teen mothers to help ensure their continued education and good health. Mrs. Norman was nominated by her principal, Cynthia West, and she was recognized at the Dale City Civic Association Awards dinner on January 28 where she celebrates with many family members and colleagues. Mrs. Norman is pictured here with her family at the ceremony.
